Default New GW Players, You are LUCKY!

Remember when the attributes could only be changed a handful of times before you ran out of points? Remember a Superior Vigor Rune costing 100K?
How much money and time did we spend figuring out what the dye combos were? If you do, then you have been playing GW for a while. The recent changes Anet have incorporated are the best I have ever seen in the game. The fact that you can now save your builds AND change your second profession right out of your skill box is such a huge improvement.
Dye previewer? SWEET! And as that was not enough, you can even select what you choose to salvage! Oh man! Do you think the new generation of GW players will ever appreciate these changes that us veterans do? I sure hope so. I wanted to post this so that you guys could share your experience with the newer players.

What things do you remember in the beginning of GW that have now since changed?

Not to mention how many times we've butchered the names of skills just so we didn't have to type 3-4 lines when asked for all of our skills. What is more annoying (to me at least) is that we've all basically been asking for these improvements since the game came out, but we're just getting them now.

I don't think the newer players will appreciate the improvements unless they used to play it before all the new stuff, or they read these forums and see how everything has been changed.

More like "we have been asking stuff since before the original game came out and we havn't gotten 90% of it, but look at this awesome 10% we have gotten... that has been butchered from what we requested..."

Lol, good times indeed, i still remember the Alpha test of phrophies, when the guild wars map was only ASKALON! This game has come a long way since then.Black dye used to be the cheapest of all, and 75% of the players where warriors (LMAO!),10% rangers, 10% eles,2% monks, 2% necro, mesmer 1%(maybe less really). Well congrats Anet, u made alote of people happy this time.

Also skill capping is a lot more improved than what it was from before. Remember bosses that never used their Elites or trying to cap while the boss was still alive? Or even bosses that didnt even spawn?

Obviously improvements are great, which is why I find it ridiculous that some players will oppose an improvement simply because in the past people had to do things the hard way and thus be unfair to those people.

well when I first got GW it was halloween as well (I bought it the exact same date Nightfall came out - but then a year earlier).

I remember:

-Sup Absorption being 100K
-skills like Firestorm being good thanks to no AoE
-green items were just new, and worth alot
-griffon farming!
-gold armors turning out to be Major Runes
-Fur Squares were worth alot, so Charr farming had its uses
-Sundering mod of 10/10 being highest instead of 20/20

I remember in the early days of GW, we didn't err7 and lag so much

Oh yes... less idiots, better community...I think there was the rainbow colored skill warmup bar (or none at all?) And of course the 60k+ superior monk runes... heh heh...

Ahhh, you young whipper snappers... Back in my day, we didn't raise the dead! None of these new fangled spells. No. We had to annoy them until they became so annoyed that they rose from their graves just to slap you across the face! Necromancer armies were nothing more than hordes of grumpy skeletons and corpses!

That's right! Back then, monks didn't heal you with magic! They spat in your wound, threw a bunch of leeches on it, said a few words for Dwayna and that was it!

Elementalists? Pah! We didn't need them! If you wanted a fireball, you found some hay, rubbed two sticks together, then threw the embers at someone!

Pah! You young people are so ungrateful that the gods decided to get off their asses and sprinkle magic into the world, it's sickening!
